Brahmastra Success: Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji Visit Somnath Temple to Express Their Gratitude

Brahmastra, the fantasy adventure film which hit theaters on Friday, September 9, has achieved blockbuster status at the box office. The Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt star, which is director Ayan Mukerji’s passion project, is witnessing a massive rush of audiences despite mixed reviews. By the end of the first week of release, Brahmastra has already become one of Bollywood’s biggest post-pandemic releases. The film finally ended the low phase that Hindi cinema had been going through for a few months.

Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji visited Somnath Temple in Gujarat today, to express their gratitude for the massive success of Brahmastra. The exciting update was shared by the filmmaker with an Instagram post. Ayan took his official handle and shared a photo with Ranbir from Somnath Temple, and wrote, “Somnath Temple 🕉॥ More Info My third visit to Jyotirling this year was told I would come here after the Brahmāstra releases, and I’m so happy and full of energy that we made it here! #Acknowledgement

Coming to Brahmastra: Part One – Ranbir Kapoor’s starring Shiva received a great response for its basic idea, director Ayan Mukerji’s pure vision, outstanding visual effects, and some of the performances. However, Ranbir Kapoor’s character, which is almost like an extension of her previous roles, Alia Bhatt’s role as Shiva’s love interest Isha, and the amateur dialogues didn’t sit well with audiences. But, Shah Rukh Khan, who made an appearance as a “scientist”, has received immense love from movie fanatics.

The second installment in the franchise, titled Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev, is set to hit theaters in December 2025. According to director Ayan Mukerji, the second installment will be bigger and better than the first. The filmmaker has also hinted that he plans to expand this universe further, and a spin-off featuring the character of Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role is on the cards.
