Mysuru, 19th July:- On the occasion of Ashadha and Chamundeshwari Vardhanthi, “Bagina”, a religious program was organized on Monday 18th July at Chamundeshwari temple on top of Chamundi hill here.
A bag consisting of ‘harishina kumkuma’, sari, bangles and flowers was distributed to 50 temple health workers by the Shri Durga Foundation.
Inaugurating the program, Dr Shashishekar Dikshit, Chief Priest of Chamundeshwari Temple, said that “in the Mysuru region, women give more priority to the worship of goddesses. The recognition of those female workers who served at the Chamundeshwari temple, the festival is more meaningful.
Congress Youth Leader, NM Naveen Kumar, who spoke on the occasion, said celebrating the month of Ashadha is a traditional ritual not only in Mysuru but across the country. “Female staff and vendors working at Chamundi Hill should be treated as professional workers.”
Rekha Srinivas, President of the Sri Durga Foundation, said ‘harishina kumkuma’ has a special place in the Hindu religion, a woman’s life is complete with it.
Director of Jeevadhara Blood Bank Center Girish, President of Chamundi Hill Gram Panchayat Bharat and former President Somanna, Vidya, Santosh Kiralu Rajesh, Pawan Siddarama and others were present. (AM/KS)
