Notable Highlights: The 5-foot-10 two-time Temple City athlete helped lead the Rams to two CIF South Division championship games and won a CIF-SS Division 4 title in softball where she was the catalyst in the throwing circle.
She was also a forward for the Rams basketball team who made an unlikely run to the CIF-SS Division 4A Finals before losing to Pacifica Christian in the championship game.
For her efforts, Gewecke was named San Gabriel Valley Area Female Athlete of the Year for 2021-22.

The second talked about playing in championships for two sports.
“It’s really cool and kinda hard to believe,” Gewecke said. “I enjoyed playing both sports and playing in the finals of both, it made history and it was fun to be a part of. My mum thought it was a good idea to play both sports, just not to burn out, and I think that helped me as an athlete. I loved it and my teammates were great.

In softball, she was named Rio Hondo League MVP, CIF-SS Division 4 Player of the Year, and Pasadena Star-News Player of the Year after helping the Rams beat Moorpark 4-2 to win the Division 4 title.
The Rams then advanced to the CIF SoCal Division III Regional Championship Game.
Gewecke’s throwing numbers were incredible. She finished 18-2 with a 0.40 ERA with 201 strikeouts. She also had two hits, including a perfect game. She hit .315 to help her team offensively.
In women’s basketball, Gewecke was a forward and key player who earned second-team Valle Vista League honors.
In women’s basketball, Temple City defeated league champion South Pasadena in the final week of the regular season, and the Rams carried that momentum into the Division 4AA playoffs and raced to the game of championship, beating No. 2 seed Aquin 65-49.
While the Rams qualified for two CIF-SS finals, Gewecke was one of the few athletes in the region to make the state playoffs for two sports.
