Large amount of groceries offered as Horekanike for Kadiyali Brahmakalashotsava Temple

Udupi, June 1: As part of Brahmakalashotsava of the Sri Mahishamardini Kadiyali Brahmakalashotsava Temple, a green horekanike was donated by villagers and devotees from different parts of the district on Wednesday, June 1.

Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Mathematics Kaniyoor and Nadoja Dr G Shankar of G Shankar Family Trust pointed out the motorcade.

Prior to this, the kaniyoor Swamiji performed a pooja at the silver gates of the temple and the Swarna (golden) Kalasha, performed in procession by a beautifully decorated vehicle.

Thousands of devotees participated in the horekanike shobha yathre.

The procession started from Jodukatte and passed through the main roads of the city.

Traditional chande, kombu kahale, paintings, tiger dance, drums, Nasik band, keelu kudure, taleaux and other cultural teams accompanied the procession.

A large amount of horekanike was donated by devotees including groceries, bags of rice, sachets of oil, coconuts, chewy coconuts, bananas, sugar, jaggery, vegetables. These items will be used for 10 days of community meals during the Brahmakalasha event.

People crowded on both sides of the road to see the great shobha yatra.
