MAFS Ella Ding slammed for posing outside a Bali temple in a bikini

MAFS star Ella Ding has received major backlash after posting a photo of herself posing outside a temple in Bali wearing a bikini and sheer mesh dress.

The reality star shared the photo on her Instagram page and captioned the photo, “I miss you so much everyday in bali time. I came back to this new version of me. I unlocked a place in my soul that I didn’t know I had, we are still growing, learning and reflecting.

The post continued, “I can admit that I wish I had done something different this year, and I personally think the first best thing for growth is to admit to yourself where you went wrong and why you think that, and how you can make amends with the people or your actions have effected. We are not perfect, we are imperfectly perfect and as humans we are all figuring that out.

While Ella defended the photo by commenting that it was taken in a temple inside a beach club in Bali, it is considered very disrespectful to be near Indonesian temples without covering the shoulders and upper legs. Temples are erected inside restaurants, beach clubs and villas so that Indonesian staff can pray and make daily offerings to their gods.

Many of Ella’s followers took to the comments section of her latest post to criticize her for her revealing outfit.

“This image is so incredibly disrespectful to the people and culture you miss. Horrible,” one wrote.

Another commented: “Okay love you @ellamayding but Beach club or not I think glorifying and sexualizing a sacred tradition no matter where it is is what would bother people.”

“The Balinese give thanks several times a day. Their statues may be located anywhere Australians visit. No apology or justification, it’s screwed.

Ella responded to some of the negative comments defending her choice to post in front of the temple due to its location.

“I guess it’s because she was taken to the beach club and these little places to say a prayer were scattered around the place! I can see that’s upset people and obviously not the intention. If my healer can comment and not feel offended, then I feel good! She wrote.
