‘Pooja’ Vehicle for Ravi Pillai’s Luxury Helicopter Rs.100cr in Guruvayur Temple | Kerala News

Guruvayur: Vehicle “poojas” for two-wheelers and luxury cars and buses are a regular feature of the famous Guruvayur temple in Kerala. But on Thursday, the temple town witnessed a very curious and rarely occurring “pooja vehicle”.

The ‘pooja’ for the luxury helicopter bought by RP Group chairman B Ravi Pillai at a price of Rs 100 crore was performed at the heliport of Sree Krishna College Ground, Ariyannur, near the town of the temple.

The brand new Airbus H-145 D 3 landed at the heliport near Guruvayur at 3 p.m. Thursday. The pooja was performed after parking the helicopter towards the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple.

Pazhayam Sumesh Namboothiri, Oathikan of Gurvayur temple and elder Melsanthi, performed the “pooja”.

The front part of the helicopter was adorned with floral garlands. Later “arathi” was performed. Finally, “kalabham” was applied to the airbus.

Ravi Pillai, his son Ganesh Ravi Pillai, airbus captains Sunil Kannoth and Jiji Kumar, Mallisseri Parameshwaran Namboothiripad and astrologer Peringodu Sankaranarayanan attended the “pooja”.

Ravi Pillai later told ‘Manorama’ that Guruvayoor’s trip was his first airbus trip.

Actor Mohanlal traveled with Ravi Pillai in the airbus from Kollam to Kochi.

After a visit to the Guruvayoor temple, Ravi Pillai and his son returned to Kollam by airbus on Friday morning.

A high level of security was provided to the helicopter at Sree Krishna College Ground on Thursday.
