S Jaishankar visits the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi

India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for 3 days. During his 3-day tour, he visited Abu Dhabi’s premier Hindu temple on Wednesday on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir is currently under construction. The minister felt elated after visiting the first temple in Abu Dhabi and appreciated and praised the efforts and progress of the team to build this temple.

After his temple visit, S Jaishankar took to his official Twitter account to upload photos and he also expressed his happiness and thoughts on the ongoing Hindu temple site visit in Abu Dhabi. He praised the Indians working behind the development of this temple and also described the temple as “a symbol of peace, tolerance and harmony”. He uploaded the photos captioned, ‘On Ganesh Chaturthi blessed to visit @BAPS Hindu Temple under construction in Abu Dhabi. I am happy to see the rapid progress and deeply appreciate the dedication of everyone involved. I met the BAPS team, community supporters, worshipers and workers at the site.

During his visit, S Jaishankar met Sheikh Nahyan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan and praised him for his strong support to the Indian community, our yoga activities, cricket and cultural cooperation.

The BAPS Swaminarayan Temple will be built on a massive area of ​​55,000 sqm. Indian temple craftsmen will decorate the temple with hand carved details. During this 3-day trip from S Jaishankar, he will hold talks with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and assess the comprehensive strategic partnership between the UAE and India.
